Our Story

We met through friends — they told Stephen I fancied him, so he thought I was a sure bet and slid straight into my DMs… they hadn’t even sent me a photo at this point! He proposed at The Shard in London, overlooking the Thames, with rose petals in our room at sunset.

The Best Decision You Made

Choosing our venue! We visited four venues, Thorpe Garden was our second venue we'd been to and we couldn't get it out of our head. It was a little on the higher side of the budget so we sat and looked at every date to see which one worked out cheaper — turns out Easter Sunday was the cheapest so we went for it!

We also chose a non-traditional walk down the aisle. Our flower girls and page boys went first, followed by bridesmaids, then our two children just before me — it made it feel like we were all walking it together.

What Would You Do Differently?

Spend more time with each other during the wedding we were both being pulled away from each other by guests, bridal and grooms party! We spent the last 2 hours partying together and it was amazing!

Your Wedding Morning

How did your wedding morning feel?

So chilled up until the last hour and a half. It just crept up on me and then I went into panic mode. I wanted to do first look with my parents and also get some photos with my bridesmaids. I was the bride who was late!

Did you exchange any gifts, letters, or special keepsakes?

My bridesmaid got me a book with photos and letters from each of them, I was crying so hard. My husband got me an engraved pandora bracelet with the number of days since we first messaged each other, to the day of our wedding. I got all of the bridal party a gift bag with some gifts in and a polaroid card of course from PrettieCo. with a little note on the back, thanking them for being part of my special day.

Did everything go to plan?

Yes, it was the most perfect day. I couldn't fault anything at all!

Supplier Highlights

Any suppliers you loved and would recommend?

  • PrettieCo. of course - I ordered from Savannah for my bridesmaid proposals, my thank you cards for the bridal party and for my parents.
  • @withgeorginaweddings our photographer. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for a kinder, nicer photographer and her photos are stunning. She was so relaxed and good with the children too. I'm so excited for the rest of the photos to come back!
  • @theweddingedit.uk - our content creator. The footage is stunning, we had everything back in 23 hours, including 5 edits! Kayla was so professional, chilled and worked so well with Georgina.
  • @princessoccasions - gorgeous venue styling and has the most beautiful showroom in case you're overwhelmed with all the decor options - the princesses really brought the vision to life!
  • @jukeboxdjcompany - the best DJ! He brought all the vibes, listened to the dance floor and it was full most of the night!

A Note to Future Brides

Don't let social media make you spend more than you budgeted for. Think about what you truly want and what will make your day feel special. Social media can make you think you need a second dress, a photobooth, a champagne tower, three hen do's. But honestly when you strip it back, you're marrying your person, your soul mate and as long as you have what you really, truly want, you don't need what social media tells you you need!

With thanks to Natasha (@athomewithtash_xo) for sharing her story 🤍
