The Bride Edit - Amy

A calm wedding morning in menorca, featuring Amy's beautiful destination wedding.

Location: Menorca, Spain
Venue: Sant Joan de Binisaida
Wedding Style: Rustic, boutique, beautiful and effortlessly calm.

How did you meet?

We actually met years ago at our local pub in Ascot, where I was the barmaid and poured him a pint! Although we both went our separate ways at the time, years later a Facebook like turned into a message... and the rest is history.

How were you proposed to?

He proposed at the cliff edge at Torre Vella in Menorca, our favourite place in the world. He drove us there in the cutest little car, and when we arrived I was greeted by a beautiful picnic, gorgeous orange flowers (my favourite colour), and the most breathtaking sea views. There was nobody else around, just the two of us surrounded by the incredible scenery. It was private, romantic, and completely perfect.

The Best Decision You Made

Booking our videographer was one of the best decisions we made. Having those memories captured forever is something we'll treasure for the rest of our lives. We also booked a saxophone player, which completely transformed the atmosphere and kept the party going all night. Live music really made the celebration feel extra special.

What Would You Do Differently?

Honestly, nothing! The day was everything we dreamed of and more. It was absolutely perfect, and we wouldn't change a single thing.

Your Wedding Morning

How did your wedding morning feel?

Surprisingly calm! I did all my stressing and panicking the day before, so when the morning arrived, I was able to relax and enjoy every moment. My bridesmaids made me feel so at ease, and the atmosphere was full of excitement and happiness.

Did you exchange any gifts, letters, or special keepsakes?

Yes! He surprised me with a stunning diamond necklace to match my engagement ring, which I wasn't expecting at all. It was such a special moment. I gifted him an Aspinal of London belt with a card that read, "Something to hold you together." He had my Maid of Honour give me my gift before I had my makeup done (thankfully!), as it was such an emotional surprise. He's always finding ways to spoil me.

Did everything go to plan?

It really did! There are always little things that happen behind the scenes, but thanks to our incredible suppliers and coordinators, everything ran so smoothly that we could simply enjoy every second.

Supplier Highlights

Any suppliers you loved and would recommend?

Honestly, every single one of them!

Our photographer was amazing — not only capturing beautiful moments but also helping fix my hair and dress throughout the day. She honestly felt like a fifth bridesmaid.

Our wonderful wedding coordinators, Anna and Rosa, made the whole day run seamlessly. They took care of every little detail, allowing me to completely relax and enjoy the day without worrying about a thing. They were incredible — women in power!

Our DJ absolutely nailed the music playlist, which had been one of our biggest worries with getting married abroad. The dance floor was full all night. Our saxophone player was phenomenal and brought so much energy to the evening. The florist created the most beautiful arrangements, exactly how we imagined, and Anna from Menorca Wedding organised our décor and styling perfectly. The lighting created the most gorgeous atmosphere, and of course, the venue itself delivered incredible food, drinks, and service.

Advice For Destination Brides

If you could give one piece of advice to couples considering a destination wedding, what would it be?

Enjoy every single second! Don't get caught up stressing over the little things, because the day goes by so quickly. Take it all in, be present, and focus on enjoying every moment together. If you and your partner are relaxed, happy, and having the best time, your guests will feel that energy too. Trust your suppliers, soak it all up, and remember why you're there — to marry your favourite person in the most beautiful place.

With thanks to Amy for sharing her story 🤍
